Biography:

David first qualified for the Professional Tour in 2008 after a promising amateur career which saw him take a number of prestigious titles. His breakthrough came winning the 2005 English Amateur Championship, believed to be the oldest tournament in snooker history, and won by such names as Ray Reardon, Terry Griffiths and Jimmy White. David repeated this triumph in 2008 and went on to win the European Amateur title to qualify for the Professional Tour for the first time.
Despite losing his Tour Card after a tough rookie Pro season, David entered Barry Hearn's new Q School in May 2011 and became the first ever player to progress, beating China's Anda Zhang 4-1 to secure his return to the professional ranks.
At the 2015 UK Championship in York, David surprised the snooker world with an incredible run to the Semi Finals, which earned him the nickname 'Amazing' from BBC master of ceremonies Rob Walker. This fairytale run helped him break into the Top 64 in the World Rankings for the first time and saved his Tour Card when he looked destined for the Q School.
